State Senator Clark Jolley, Republican candidate for Congress in Oklahoma's 5th district, commented on the latest revelation of profligate government waste of taxpayer dollars on various state Affordable Care Act portals, aka ObamaCare Exchanges. Reports indicate close to half a billion dollars has been spent on just 4 state exchange portals that do not function, and that number is bound to rise as the exchanges begin reporting regularly on their activity. While there is not a final estimate yet on the total amount spent on non-working portals, it appears likely that Congress will be asked to spend billions more to salvage state exchanges. (read more:

"Like most Americans, I am horrified by the billions of dollars wasted on federal and state ObamaCare exchanges that don't work and fail to serve those people forced to use them. Now the federal government will be asked to spend billions more to fix these broken exchanges. It is reckless and irresponsible to continue to pour money into these exchanges and expect them to work," said Jolley.

"I am proud to have been one of the first to speak out against ObamaCare as a grave threat to our liberty and our nation's economic security. I led the fight for a Constitutional Amendment to protect Oklahomans from the individual mandate and I wrote the HealthCare Compact to ensure that Oklahomans could withdraw from ObamaCare and administer our own health care programs. I support healthcare decisions being made by doctors and their patients, not HHS bureaucrats."

"If elected to represent Oklahoma's 5th District in Congress, I will fight to repeal ObamaCare and oppose any legislation to bail out failed state exchanges. I want to advance free-market solutions to the health insurance issues we face, because expanding government control will never lower costs or improve care. We don't need Washington to tell us what to do or how to do it, we need Washington to get out of the way so we can implement the reforms that actually work, " Jolley concluded.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) recently released a report that shows the devastating impact of ObamaCare on jobs. ObamaCare will cost 2 million jobs by 2017 -- climbing up to 2.3 million jobs in 2021 and 2.5 million jobs by 2024. According to the CBO, most of that impact will be felt among lower-wage workers—all due to ObamaCare’s negative impact on our economy.

State Senator Clark Jolley has been a leader for conservative principles in Oklahoma's state government since he was first elected in 2004. He is the author of major legislation to reduce taxes, fight ObamaCare, enact tort reform, protect the 2nd Amendment, balance the budget, and protect the lives of the unborn. He and his wife Verlyne live in Edmond and their two children attend the local public school.
